George Harwood was born on 29 Nov 1847 at Littleport, CAM, ENG. He married
Mary Crabb, daughter of
Christopher Crabb and
Orpah Cross, on 25 Sep 1868 at Camberwell, SRY, ENG. George Harwood died on 15 Mar 1914 at Workington, CUM, ENG, at age 66.
George Harwood Some of George's children emmigrated to the US per his daughter Ethel. I have several photographs of George Harwood and his family taken in Enland when the children were young.
The photos were taken in 'Brockley, SE'. I later confirmed that Brockley is in the greater London area about SW of Greenich Park. That is just south of the 'U' that the Thames River makes a little east of downtown London. The next step is to see if there are any records in the Brockley area of George Harwood and family.
Much family information was provided to me (April 1996) by distant cousin Debra Sue Litchfield regarding George Thomas Harwood and his descendants. He was burried with his wife and son George Thomas in the Harrington Road Cemetery. His tombstone reads 'George Harwood who died March 15, 1914 Aged 66 Years'. There were brass letters imbedded in the stone and some of these have fallen out. They have been sent to Olga Riggs, his Granddaughter. The cross at the top of the three tiered monument is now gone, presumably stolen. Olga Riggs Kaiser has old pictures of the monument showing the cross.
I subsequently received abundant information from Olga Riggs regarding George Harwood and progeny including his marriage certificate to Mary Crabb. As of this writing (July 1996) I'm in communication with Ms. Litchfield and Ms. Kaiser.

Mary Crabb Have copy of Parish Church marriage provided by distant cousin Olga kaiser; Book 13, Page 183, Item no. 363. Both the bride and groom lived on Rosemore Road at the time of their wedding. Witnessed by John Henry Nayler's(sp.?) and Mary Harwood. It was also witnessed by Mary Harwood, who may have been George's younger sister.? Need to research the Census for that area.
